162 Jay Street
Schenectady, New York 12305
Conversion of a former industrial building into a cafe and bakery in downtown Schenectady. The existing unadorned brick facade was removed and a new detailed facade with traditionally proportioned pilasters and inset panels was created using standard face brick, Italian tiles, limestone base and lintels, and a cast stone ornamental cornice. A modern glass canopy with vertical elongated lettering mounted above was added over the main entrance doors into the retail area. Beautifully crafted Italian casework was imported by the owners of the facility to showcase the pastries and products for sale.
