Guy Park Manor
Amsterdam, New York
Rehabilitation And Restoration (OGS) |
Rehabilitation and restoration of the historic Guy Park Manor for use by the New York State Canal Corporation. The Georgian House was constructed in 1774 and was heavily damaged during flooding caused by Hurricane Irene in 2011.
The historic structure and features of the building will be restored while allowing the building being used as offices.
The restoration will include rebuilding and raising the entire building and surrounding grade above the flood plain plus restoring the first and second floors of the building for office use. The site will provide flood protection with berms, raise grade, walkways, parking and accessibility. The raised park will be enhanced with a surrounding stone retaining wall.
